Nest Chatter

The Nesters continue to stay busy all over the country and the world!  Check out what everyone has been up to:

Nicholas Beaudrot (OA) is in Seattle, WA, helping Amazon.com find ways to reduce computing and energy usage and has also been volunteering in politics in his spare time. 

Margaret Dyer (OA) is working as an Office Manager in a Strategic Consulting Firm and having a great time living in Nashville, TN.

Jeanette Hagan (OA) is a PhD Candidate in geology at UCSB and doing research in Sierra Nevada looking at faults and volcanic rocks.  She is always looking for field assistants!

Brooks Daverman (OA) is pursuing a Masters Degree in Public Policy at Duke University.  He was married to Audra Ladd on August 18th.  Congratulations!

Daniel Blaser (OA) graduated from NYU Law School in 2006 and has been working as a real estate associate at Paul, Hastings, Janofsky, and Walker LLP in New York.

Evan Orenstein (OA) has spent time in Alaska, France, China, South Africa, and Belize since OA.  He is now attending Yale University and is applying to medical school. 

Lili Hsu (OA) has returned from spending time in Argentina to begin Stanford this fall. 

Richard O’Hara (Board of Trustees) was named the President of The John Carroll School in Bel Air. 

Julie Grogan-Brown (camper, OA) is working at Northern High School in Durham, NC and teaching Civics and Economics. 

Edee Tamsett (camper, Staff, Trustee) recently participated in a triathlon in Florida. 

Will Abberger (camper, Staff, Trustee) participated in a mountain bike metric century race.

Erin Malone (camper, JC, Staff) has moved to rural Oregon to do a program through the University of Oregon Graduate School of Planning and Public Policy.  Good luck Erin!

Micah Eben Rader (camper) was married on August 4th to Gretchen Maggie Stich.  They are now living in Edwards, Colorado.  Congratulations! 

Mandy Williams (Staff) is running Cross Country for Trinity College and came in 3rd place overall in her first race this fall and achieved her personal record in mid September!

Jen Hunt (camper, JC, Staff) just traveled to India as an Assistant Instructor for a WMI course through NOLS.  She was located in the north-central corner near Nepal and Tibet.   

Ty Devries (camper, JC, OA) was accepted into the North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics and is now a member of the class of 2009.  Congratulations Ty!

Josh Rosenstien (camper, JC) and Josh Klein-Kuhn (OA) are in a band together and they have a full-length album coming out this fall called “Southern Dirt”.

Jeremy Campbell (Hante Director) just ran in the Cape Cod Marathon. Congrats!

Ethan Siegel (camper, JC, Staff) has moved to Missoula, Montana where he and his wife have started an organic daycare center called Organic Sprouts (www.organicsprouts.net). 

Ezra Siegel (camper, JC) was in Brazil this past summer working at a child care center in Salvador.  He is attending Colorado College as a freshman this fall.   

Anne Hardy (Staff) has begun working with Teach for America and is now living and teaching in New Orleans, LA.

Noah Eaker (camp, JC, Staff) is living in New York, NY and working as an Assistant Editor at Random House.

Glenn Ingram (Staff) graduated from the National College of Naturopathic Medicine in 2006 and was married in September.  He and his wife are planning to move to Brevard, NC to open a practice next year!

Karen Granados (Hante) is attending Skidmore College in New York.  She says that her experience on Hante West Virginia helped to lead her on her path towards college. 

Eagle’s Nest welcomes new Board of Trustee members Heather Goodling (Atlantic Beach, FL), Steve Robins (Nashville, TN), and Bruce Grob (Jacksonville, FL).

Births

Sharon Bloom Shacklette (Staff) and her husband Justin had a baby girl named Clare Jaye Shacklette on March 2nd. 

Jeremy Resnick (camper) and his wife Lauren had a baby boy named Charles Harrison Resnick on March 19th.
 
Phil Grant (Staff) and his wife Lesley had a baby girl, Ainsley Elizabeth Grant on April 19th.  In addition, Phil received the Vermont Governor’s Heritage Award in April. 

Phil and Raechal Adams (Staff) had their second son this summer, Joshua Charles.

Rob and Kim Skeen (Staff) had a baby girl named Lillian Elizabeth Skeen on April 17th. 

Emmylou Ferris Dooly (Staff) and her husband Lance had a baby boy, Brooks, on July 11th. 

Susan Tinsley Daily (Faculty) and husband Michael had a baby boy, Noah Kingfisher Brown, on October 21st.

Julie Slobin would like to invite any Nesters who will be down under to a reunion at her house on December 15th! All are welcome! Questions -Email info@enf.org.
