Eagle’s Nesters continue to do exciting and wonderful things all over the country and the world! Check out what everyone has been up to:
Jacob Chapman (Camp) married Rachel Atkinson on August 4, 2007. Jacob is finishing his Residency in Emergency Medicine at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston and will start a fellowship in Public Health at Harvard next year. Rachel is an elementary school art teacher who is an exceptionally gifted rock climber. Congratulations to you both!
Gabriel Rogers (Camp, OA) is continuing to have a wonderful time with the Peace Corps in El Salvador.
Mavis Clapp (Camp) just won the Four Pillars Award from NY Outward Bound (top instructor). She will be honored at a Banquet at the NY Times building. Her dad attributes it all to her early days in Cabin Library.
Jonathan Gaynes (Camp) held his first photography exhibit entitled, “Faces of the World” at Rose of Sharon in East Point, GA in December. Jonathan received inspiration for the works in his exhibit from his recent travels to places such as Israel, India, Canada, and post-Katrina New Orleans.

Kaitlin Friedman (Camp, OA), Sarah Burstein (Camp, OA), and Beka Jopling (Camp) spent 2 months this fall traveling in Australia and met up with former ENC counselors Chloe Fogg, Charles and Beth Cranford, Amanda Sommerville, John Baty, Matt Taylor, and Dave Bromley. Kaitlin worked as a nanny in New Zealand for a month and hopped over to Bali, Indonesia for a couple of weeks. She is now living in Camden, New Jersey working as an Americorps/VISTA volunteer at the South Jersey Environmental Justice Alliance.
Hannah Friedman (Camp) is enjoying her freshman year at University of North Carolina Chapel Hill and is considering study in fields that address public health and development issues.
Chelsea Arkin (Camp, OA) is working on her Masters in Urban Planning at UGA, and she is going to Nicaragua for her spring break.

Lydia Odell qualified for and will run her second Boston Marathon on April 21. Good luck Lydia!
McNeill Mann (Camp, OA) has graduated from Prescott College with a BA in Environmental Education and Writing and Literature, and an English Teacher’s Certification. She is now the Program Intern here at Eagle’s Nest!
Sophia Botran (Camp) was in The Nutcracker in Miami, FL. She and Miguel Botran (Camp) are now in a community production of “Frog and Toad are Friends”.
Finn Lester-Niles (Camp) was in the North Carolina School of the Arts production of The Nutcracker in Winston-Salem, NC.
Karen Day (Camp) has been living in New York and working for Conde Nast, first with Teen Vogue and now with Glamour working under the Senior Fashion Editor. She says the best part of the job is the traveling she has had the opportunity to do.

Lauren Trushin (Camp) is preparing for her Bat Mitzvah in May.
Jodi John Pippin (Camp) was an extra in the movie “Leatherheads” starring George Clooney and Renee Zellweger that opens this spring.
Hank and John Green (Camp) were featured on “All Things Considered” discussing their video blog project, “Brotherhood 2.0”.
Cecilia Kucera (Camp, OA) played in a “Side by Side” concert with the Winston-Salem Symphony and served on the editorial staff for this edition of The Eagle.
Josh Osborn (Camp) played quarterback for his football team this fall. They went undefeated and won the Super Bowl of their league.
Claire Wofford (Camp) is currently studying abroad in Salamanca, Spain and having a wonderful time.
Heather and Jacob Goodling (Camp) were recently in a performance of “It’s A Wonderful Life”.
Jeanette Hagan (OA) is currently spending time back in North Carolina helping on her mother’s (Kay Hagan) campaign for US Senate.
Chloe Hans (OA) is in Miami and is currently organizing a charitable event called “Spirit of Darfur” to raise money for the refugee situation in Darfur, Sudan. Good luck Chloe!
Julie Slobin spent her Christmas downunder and visited with many ENC counselors including John Baty, Charles and Beth Cranford, Daniel Hill, Louis Evans, Suzie O’Sullivan, Chloe Fogg, Amanda Somerville, Johan Debry, and Emma Schilkinis.
Patrick Sweatt (Camp) is in Palmer, Alaska working on a small organic farm through the end of their season in November. The farm is in a glacial silt valley and they grow massive cabbage and will be getting upwards of 20 hours of sunlight in July.
Evan Rick (camper, JC, OA Resident) and Dan Center (OA Resident) just got back from a 10-week adventure in East Africa to visit Zach Center (Counselor) who is in the Peace Corps in Mozambique. Adam Rick (camper) came out to Montana to visit them during his "ski break" -- he is finishing up his second year of law school in New Hampshire.
Joyce Kuik (OA) took 13th place at the ABS (American Bouldering Series) National Competition in Boulder, CO after a 1st place win at the divisional level. Joyce’s sister Robin Kuik is currently enrolled at The Outdoor Academy.
