Session 1 is up and running! We’ve enjoyed the first several days of the session. It’s so fun for us to see so many returning campers new friends too. The days have already been filled with laughter, adventure and excitement for the session ahead of us.
Since Saturday we’ve already done so much: games with our cabins, air guitar performances, and full days of classes.
Last night all of the campers were put into their tribes and went out on hikes. Every camper at Eagle’s Nest is part of a tribe. There are two boys’ tribes (represented by the Eagle and the Bear) and two girls’ tribes (represented by the mouse and the buffalo). Once a camper is placed in a tribe they will always be a part of that tribe. Campers love getting together for special activities and hike with their tribes. Last night was no exception. All of the campers seemed so happy and excited (and muddy if they were a member of the Bear tribe) as they returned, chatting and cheering, from their hikes.
Tonight we have a campfire scheduled. We’re hoping that the intermittent rain will hold off long enough for us to be able to roast our marshmallows outside on Nature Hill. Otherwise we’ll build a nice warm fire in the Old Lodge and settle down for stories there.
