2008 Financial Information
What is Included in Cost
The tuition fees include all activities, such as riding, rock climbing, whitewater paddling, laundry fees and airport transportation from Asheville, NC.
Extra Costs
Some Hantes Adventures require airfare. An additional amount will be recommended for the canteen account for t-shirts, etc.
Deposit for Camp and Regular Hantes
Camp and regular Hante Adventures have a $450 deposit of which $100 is non-refundable. Deposit is due with application submission to hold a space. $350 of the deposit is refundable until February 1 of camp or Hante year unless otherwise specified for special Hante Adventures and Junior Counselor (JCs) applicants.
Special Hante Adventures Deposits and Refunds
Special Hante Adventures marked with an asterisks (*) application deadline is November 15 before camp year with rolling acceptance after November 15. Special Hante Adventures have a 50% non-refundable deposit due three (3) weeks after acceptance into the program. Remaining balance is due February 1 and is non-refundable.
Junior Counselors Deposits and Refunds
Junior Counselor application deadline is October 15 before camp year with rolling acceptance after October 15. Junior Counselors have a 50% non-refundable deposit due three (3) weeks after acceptance into the program. Remaining balance is due February 1 and is non-refundable.
Full Payment
Camp and Regular Hante payment is due in full by March 1 of camp or Hante year.
Refunds
After March 1 of camp year and prior to the beginning of the session the camper is registered to attend, there is no refund for early withdrawal, late arrival or no-show. However, if there is a serious accident or illness during this time period, one-half of the unused tuition may be refunded. Further consideration of refunds is made at the discretion of the trustees, upon written request.
Discounts
- Early Registration 1: Enrollment before August 18 (end of camp) entitles participant to 5% discount.
- Early Registration 2: Enrollment before October 1 before camp or Hante session begins entitles participant to a 3% discount.
- Sibling Discount: Families who have more than one child attending camp or Hante receive a 5% discount for each sibling beyond the first.
- Multi Session Discount: A person attending two sessions (camp or Hante sessions) receives 10% off least expensive session.
- OA Discount: An Outdoor Academy Student will receive a 5% discount on camp tuition for the summer immediately following the OA Semester attended.
- Referral Discount: The recruitment of a new participant entitles the recruiter to a 5 % discount of the new camper's fees from his own fees. This discount may be granted only if the recruiter has notified Eagle's Nest in writing by February 1 of the participants he/she recruited.
- Camp Representative Discount: 5% discount for hosting a party
- Camp Representative Referral Discount: 10% off fees of camper you recruited, 15% if second year representatives
Financial Aid
A limited number of our participants receive financial aid. Financial assistance is granted according to economic status, family need, the child’s need for camp or Hante and the potential participant's desire to attend.
Complete the following by February 25 of camp year to apply:
- Complete Camp Application Form
- Complete Financial Aid Request Form Campership Request Form (pdf format) or Campership Request Form (rtf format)
- Include a check for $150
- Return all 3 items to:

While financial aid applications submitted before the February 25 deadline will receive first priority, we continue to review all incoming applications for financial aid.
Note: Deposit is refundable if scholarship is not granted or insufficient scholarship is granted.
