Financial Information & Scholarships
2010 Camp/Hante Financial Information

What is Included in Cost

The tuition fees include all activities, such as riding, rock climbing, whitewater paddling, laundry fees and airport transportation from Asheville, NC.

Extra Costs

Some Hantes Adventures require airfare. An additional amount will be recommended for the canteen account for t-shirts, etc.

Insurance

Eagle's Nest requires all campers to be covered by medical/health insurance while attending Camp or Hante programs.  We also encourage families to look into travel/tuition insurance. Many insurance companies offer low-cost, short term or temporary insurance policies for students and summer campers. For more information, please contact your insurance agent or try one of the companies listed on our
Parents Resources page.

Deposit for Camp and Regular Hantes

Camp and regular Hante Adventures have a $450 deposit of which $100 is non-refundable. Deposit is due with application submission to hold a space. $350 of the deposit is refundable until February 1 of camp or Hante year unless otherwise specified for special Hante Adventures and Junior Counselor (JCs) applicants.

Special Hante Adventures Deposits and Refunds

Special Hante Adventures marked with an asterisks (*) application deadline is November 15 before camp year with rolling acceptance after November 15. Special Hante Adventures have a 50% non-refundable deposit due upon acceptance into the program. Remaining balance is due February 1 and is non-refundable.

Junior Counselors Deposits and Refunds

Junior Counselor application deadline is October 15 before camp year with rolling acceptance after October 15. Junior Counselors have a 50% non-refundable deposit upon acceptance into the program. Remaining balance is due February 1 and is non-refundable.

Full Payment

Camp and Regular Hante payment is due in full by March 1 of camp or Hante year.

Refunds

After March 1 of camp year and prior to the beginning of the session the camper is registered to attend, there is no refund for early withdrawal, late arrival or no-show.  However, if there is a serious accident or illness during this time period, one-half of the unused tuition may be refunded.  Further consideration of refunds is made at the discretion of the trustees, upon written request.  Eagle's Nest Camp highly recommends the purchase of travel/tuition insurance.  Many companies offer a low-cost travel/tuition insurance for summer campers; one we have referred camp families to in the past is Assurance Solutions, Inc.

Financial Aid

A limited portion of our camper population receives some sort of financial aid, often in the form of tuition scholarships called Camperships.  This funding is giving in light of economic status, family need, the child’s need for camp or Hante, and the potential participant's desire to attend.  All requests for financial assistance should be made to the camp.  To make a request for financial assistance (Campership), please complete the following by February 25th:

Eagle’s Nest Camp
P.O. Box 5127
Winston-Salem, NC 27113-5127

While financial aid applications submitted before the February 25 deadline will receive first priority, we continue to review all incoming applications for financial aid.
