Eagle's Nest Foundation (ENF) is located at 43 Hart Road, in Pisgah Forest, NC,
in the Blue Ridge mountainsof western North Carolina. Our campus is not near
any major highways,so getting here requires driving on some country roads.
While internetdirections (i.e., Google Maps, Mapquest, etc.) and GPS devices are useful while traveling to our approximate location, they may not be the best guide on the last portion of the trip, for several reasons:
In an effort to provide you with the shortest route, they may send you
down a complicated series of back roads that can be difficult to navigate
if you are unfamiliar with the area. The directions below describe the
simplest routes to our campus, which may be easier to follow than the
shortest routes.
Some intersections on the way to ENF do not have road signs posted.
Consequently, the directions below use lots of landmarks and odometer
readings to help with navigation. There is a lot of information below, but
we would rather have too much information than too little!

Get onto I-26 EAST south of Asheville, headed towards Hendersonville/Spartanburg/Asheville Airport.
Take exit 40 for NC-280 towards Arden/Asheville Regional Airport.
At the end of the ramp, turn right onto NC-280/New Airport Road, heading towards Brevard.
Continue to follow NC-280 for 16 miles.
As you near 16 miles, you'll pass a large shopping center on your rightwith a Wal-mart and a Bi-Lo grocery store, then you'll arrive at a large intersection of routes 280, 64, and 276. There will be a Pizza Hut onyour right and a Rite-Aid pharmacy on your left. Go straight through the light at this intersection.
Almost immediately you will pass a Lowes home improvement center on your left. Just past the Lowes, turn left onto Ecusta Road (the road sign is difficult to see at this intersection).
At 1.3 miles, Ecusta Road ends at Old Hendersonville Highway. Thereisn't a road sign at this intersection, but there will be an Exxon gas station on your right. Turn left onto Old Hendersonville Highway.
Drive for 1 mile, then turn right onto Everett Road. You will see a signfor Eagle's Nest Camp and The Outdoor Academy at this intersection.
Drive along Everett Road for 2.4 miles, then turn right onto HartRoad.
Drive down the short hill and turn right into the ENF mainentrance.
From I-26 West, take exit 49Bto merge onto US-64 West towards Hendersonville. Clear your odometer at this point.
Within a few miles you'll drive through downtown Hendersonville. At2.2 miles, you have to make a quick left/right turn combination to stay on US-64 West. Specifically, make a left turn onto Buncombe Street/US-64 W, then almost immediately a right turn onto 6th Ave W/US-64 W. Continue to follow US-64 West.
To confirm that you are on the right road: at about 2.8 miles you willpass a large cemetary on the left. At 11 miles, you will pass through thesmall town of Etowah - there will be a large Ingles grocery store on yourleft. Continue to follow US-64 West.
At 15 miles you will pass a small sign on your right for the HolmesEducationalStateForest and theTransylvaniaCountyAirport. Momentslater, as you come around a bend, you will arrive at an intersection with atraffic light. There is a Texaco-Triangle Stop gas station on the left. Turnleft here onto Crab Creek Road.
0.3 miles after turning, you’ll cross some railroad tracks and then a bridgeover a river. At 1.2 miles, you will pass the Little River Fire Departmenton your right. At 1.3 miles, turn right onto Everett Road. You willsee a small sign at the intersection that says “Eagle’s Nest.”
Within a few tenths of a mile you will cross two one-lane bridges; bealert for oncoming traffic.
Moments later, at 1.8 miles, you will see a large sign on the left that says“Eagle’s Nest Camp - The Outdoor Academy”. Turn left here ontoHart Road.
Drive down the short hill andturn right into the ENF mainentrance.
Drive east on US-64 towards Brevard.
After you drive through downtown Brevard, you will descend a hill andpass BrevardCollege on your right. Moments later you'll see a large plazaon your right containing an Ingle's grocery store and a K-mart. Just pastthe plaza, bear right onto Old Hendersonville Highway(there is no road sign at this intersection).
Drive along Old Hendersonville Highway for 2.6 miles, then turn right onto Everett Road. You will see a sign for Eagle's Nest Camp and The OutdoorAcademy at this intersection.
Drive along Everett Road for 2.4 miles, then turn right onto HartRoad.
Drive down the short hill and turn right into the ENF mainentrance.
