Jean Cohen

Jean's connection to Eagle's Nest began in 1992, when the oldest of her three children began attending camp.   Jon, Saul and Jennifer  have spent a combined 21 summers at Eagle's Nest.   Jennifer has enjoyed nearly everything ENF has to offer, including camp, Huck Finn, Hante, and the Outdoor Academy (semester XXII).  In addition, she has been a junior counselor and WILD participant.  The summer of 2010 was her second as a counselor at ENC.   For the years they were camp representatives and thereafter, the Cohen family has had the pleasure of hosting many Eagle's Nest staffers in DC when they were on the road.

Jean is a lifelong Washingtonian.   She received a BA in psychology from Ithaca College and an MSW from Catholic University.  She is a clinical social worker currently in private practice in Silver Spring, Maryland.  Her entire career has been spent working with teenagers and their families.   She sees camp as a fantastic opportunity for children and teenagers to unplug from their lives at home and school and to enjoy the freedom of living outdoors while part of the wonderful ENC community.  She is a staunch supporter of the Outdoor Academy and looks forward to serving on the OA committee.  She is very excited  to be a member of the Board of Trustees  and looks forward to helping ENF continue to fulfill its mission.  Jean also serves as a board member for the American Jewish Society for Service, a summer program that sends high school students on six week  volunteer service projects across the US.
