Casey Pond

Casey Pond attended Eagle’s Nest Camp Session 2 from 1978 to 1982. He is a second-generation nester as his mother, Cynthia Reeves, attended ENC for several years in the mid 1950’s. Growing up in a military family, Casey lived in several parts of the US and Europe. After serving in the US Navy Submarine Service during Desert Storm, Casey moved to Boone, NC. Casey lives with his wife Nancee and his three children Reid, Ruby and Ryder Pond.

Casey graduated from Appalachian State University in 1997 with a degree in education. Upon graduating, Casey’s love for the mountains kept him there pursuing a variety of business endeavors. He has worked in the construction industry, building the first Energy Star home in Watauga County. In addition, Casey has started several local businesses including a catering company, a natural foods market, an airport shuttle service, and a real estate brokerage. He currently owns a restaurant, a green building company, and a cinema and draft house. Casey has experience in the non-profit arena, having served on the Board of Directors for Watauga County Habitat for Humanity. He spent three years designing, launching, and profitably operating the Watauga County Habitat for Humanity ReStore.

In his free time, Casey enjoys mountain-biking, hiking, racquetball, and fishing. Becoming an ENF trustee in 2009, Casey is excited to be a part of the Eagle’s Nest family again after many years away, and is hopeful that his diverse background will help him to be of the best service possible to the Board.
