Description

Oaxaca , México is a Spanish-built city of narrow streets with a special atmosphere- you feel relaxed and energetic the moment you arrive.   You feel remote yet cosmopolitan.   For 2-weeks the group will work on community service projects in one of the rural communities in Oaxaca.   Projects may include painting, cleaning, teaching, building, cooking, digging, etc.   The needs are endless and just the presence of our group gives the people of Oaxaca a sense of calm because they know that we are there to help.   After working hard on projects, making new friends, learning the Spanish language, we set off on our next journey.   For the next 5 days we will make a new connection.   We will learn about the relationships between water, waves, and our bodies!   We’re gonna learn how to surf!   It’s not just about “learning how to surf.”   It’s really about the connection that you make when you’re out there waiting for a wave; it’s about the relationship between you and the water and how both flow together.   Surfing is an instrument that allows you to focus on personal goals.   Surfing allows you to go places without ever leaving!
