About Hante Adventures

For over 37 years, Hante Adventures have provided numerous opportunities for youth to venture into the wilderness or into a new culture with a team of like-minded individuals. Hante Adventures are trips planned especially for young people in 7th-12th grades who seek high adventure, personal challenge, and lifelong friendships. Along with a group of no more than 12 peers and 2 - 3 instructors, Hante participants step away from their everyday lives for a 2 - 4 week excursion. Whether it’s in Alaska, California, North Carolina, Utah, New Zealand, Spain or beyond, they have unforgettable experiences and create memories that will last a lifetime. With Hante Adventures, the destinations and learning are endless.

All Hante Adventures provide an amazing experience for participants. During each adventure you will:
  • Form lasting friendships. Come away from your Hante Adventure with true friends who shared a common experience.
  • Learn leadership skills. Teach your peers how to use a map and compass on a trek through the Colorado Rockies, or how to tie a figure-eight knot on a climbing trip in the Southwest.
  • Develop wilderness skills. Learn how to build a shelter and identify edible and medicinal plants found in the wilderness. Begin learning how to prepare food on a camp-stove or campfire.
  • Gain self-confidence. Paddle 100 miles of whitewater with everything you need in your boat. Feel a rush of adrenaline as you reach the top of a difficult mountain climb to look down at the vast stretch of land beneath you.
  • Experience personal growth. Find the true adventurer inside you as you climb to the top of Virginia's highest mountain or climb one of the large peaks in Ecuador.
  • Challenge yourself in exciting new ways. Learn what it takes to navigate your way through nature as you sail in the pacific-northwest, or backpack along trails in Maine.
