Hante Appalachian Trail Trek Georgia,
Session 2 (grades 7 – 11, $2,400)
6/26/2011 to 7/15/2011 (20 days)
The Hante Adventures program began over 35 years ago with a backpacking trip along the Appalachian Trail. Each year, we continue that tradition, hiking various sections of the AT, working together in our small trail group, and living simply in the woods for a session. This summer, Hante AT Trek participants will hike the a section of the trail in Georgia, beginning at the southernmost point of the AT—Springer Mountain. They will hike north through Chattahoochee National Forest toward Bly Gap on the Georgia/North Carolina border. The trip will culminate with a white water rafting trip on the Chattooga River near Clayton, GA. If you enjoy the simple joys of hiking, being part of a tight knit group, working towards a goal (like hiking 100 miles with everything on your back), and connecting with the natural world, this trip is for you.
