FRENCH BROAD ESCAPADES
June 26 – July 15, 2022 For campers completing grades 5 or 6 in Spring 2022
Strap on your water shoes and get your sunscreen ready for the quest of a lifetime on the French Broad River! Starting at the headwaters in Rosman, NC, your group of adventurers will travel North towards Asheville, NC. Before you head out on your epic journey you and your group will create the ultimate river vehicles, using canoes as your base. Your days will be filled with mischief, river navigation, white squirrel sightings, and honing in on those floating skills; let’s not forget the swimming either. You’ll spend glorious nights camping along the river, eating delicious food, and marveling at beautiful sunsets. Adventure awaits on the French Broad River!
Session 3 Added Adventure
July 17 – August 5, 2022 For campers completing grades 5 or 6 in Spring 2022 Cost: $5,095
A classic Added Adventure! Campers start with the traditional Eagle’s Nest Camp experience, then head to the Sea Islands – a chain of tidal and barrier islands off the coasts of South Carolina and Georgia – for a week of camping and exploring coastal ecosystems while learning about the diverse flora, fauna, and cultures found on the coast.
This year we’ll visit Cumberland Island, the southernmost island of the Georgia Sea Islands. Cumberland is preserved as a National Seashore with no bridge to the mainland, no motor vehicles, and no towns. In addition to its pristine environment, Cumberland has a rich history of settlement by Native Americans, Spanish explorers, and people from across the eastern United States.
Sleep under the stars, catch fish and crabs, and discover the rich ecosystems of this unique area. Join us for an exciting adventure in beach life and ocean ecology!
All Added Adventure, Hante Adventures, and Junior Counselor participants and their parents or guardians must complete all questionnaire before being considered for the program. Questionnaires are available with registration on CampDoc.
