Apply for a Seasonal Position
We are excited to have you apply to work at Eagle’s Nest Camp and Hante Adventures. Working at camp is one of the most meaningful and joyful jobs you’ll ever have.
If you are a citizen of a foreign country who wishes to work in the United States, you must first obtain a visa. Exchange visitor (J) visas are nonimmigrant visas for individuals approved to participate in exchange visitor programs in the United States. We work closely with five agencies that can help you with that. Please contact Camp Counselors USA, CIEE, IENA, Camp Leaders, or AmeriCamp to start the application process with them. We are still looking for a Canoeing Head for this summer!
Requirements:
- At least 21 years of age with a clean driving record
- Wilderness First Aid Certification or higher level of Wilderness Medicine training or willingness and ability to obtain this certification through staff training
- Can confidently and safely navigate a tandem canoe on Class II Rapids and swim in rivers
- Experience identifying river features and using canoe rescue techniques
- Able to teach others paddle signals, strokes, and skill
- Experience leading outdoor trips
Major Responsibilities
- Teach open boat canoeing skills appropriate to the class, age, and experience level of participants.
- Supervise a staff of up to 8 people
- Plan and facilitate off-campus Canoe trips
- Ensure all canoeing equipment is in good working order, and report any issues to the OPM or Assistant Camp Director
