Last summer at Eagle’s Nest Camp, we inaugurated our first ever Nestling Day!!!  It was so popular that we filled both days on which we offered this program.  In summer 2019, we welcomed 24 Nestling Day campers to camp on two separate days; one during Session 2 and one during Session 3.  From among these 24, we had many register for full camp sessions in 2019.  And we have over half of our Nestling Day campers from 2019 returning to attend full camp sessions in 2020!  We are so excited to see our Nestling Day campers from last summer back this summer to join fully in a week or two weeks or three weeks of camp magic!

For those of you unfamiliar with our Nestling Day program, it is an opportunity for prospective campers who are currently in Kindergarten through 5th grade to spend a full day at Eagle’s Nest to experience camp adventures while camp is in session. During Nestling Day, children, parents, and guardians experience Eagle’s Nest firsthand. Nestling Day campers will participate in classes within our three areas of programming – wilderness, arts, and athletics – and will be integrated into the full camp community by joining current campers and staff for a family-style lunch. Parents will have the opportunity to tour campus with their camper and attend an information session where they can discuss our program with a camp leader. We will conclude the day with an optional picnic dinner for Nestling Day participants and their families.

For prospective campers, Nestling Day affords them the opportunity to become familiar and comfortable with our camp prior to registering for a full camp session.  During their day at camp, Nestling Day campers are provided a window into camp activities, events, and the general flow of a day at camp.  They have a table family at lunch and they mingle with campers who are attending the session.  Additionally, prospective campers have the opportunity to forge connections with current campers and fellow prospective campers.  This helps to put prospective campers and their families at ease when contemplating attending a full, overnight session of camp.  It helps to alleviate any jitters or reservations.

This summer, we are offering one Nestling Day on July 6th, during our Session 2.  We already have several families signed up for this day of camp fun and activities!

If you know any prospective campers and their families who are interested in learning more about Eagle’s Nest Camp and having the chance to experience directly the camp experience, let them know about our Nestling Day program.  You can learn more on our website here as well as register for Nestling Day.  It is a wonderful way to learn firsthand about Eagle’s Nest Camp.  Space is limited in Nestling Day, so sign up quickly.  If you have any questions at all, please contact our office at 336-761-1040.  We hope to see you this summer!!!!
