It’s hard to believe we are 2.5 weeks into Session 3! The session may be coming to a close in a few days but we have a jam-packed schedule between now and when we say our goodbyes.

Yesterday, was a busy day on campus! Advanced Rock Climbing headed out for their 3-day climbing trip in Linville Gorge.  Those of us on campus participated in a new, special evening activity in which we listened to Cherokee stories from special guest, Jarrett Wildcat from the Cherokee Museum.  Jarrett also shared his experience growing up in Cherokee and answered questions from campers and counselors about Cherokee language and culture.

We also welcomed 15 guest campers to Eagle’s Nest as part of our second Nestling Day of the summer.  Nestling Day is a new program for prospective campers to get a 1-day taste of life at Eagle’s Nest Camp.  Participants went for a creek walk with Paige, crafted in the arts arena, and went for a horseback ride with two camp favorites, Cowboy and Doc. Nestling campers also joined Session 3 for lunch and sat at table families with current campers. The day concluded with a cookout on Cabin 7 field with alumni and staff! Campers loved sharing their experiences at Eagle’s Nest with these future campers!

Everyone is anxiously awaiting the reveal of the Final Banquet theme.  Tomorrow, campus will be transformed into a moving play with hundreds of costumes, ornate sets, skits, and of course, themed snacks and a banquet style dinner.  Keep an eye out on our Facebook and Instagram stories for updates throughout the evening.
